Vintage Les Gruppes (Red, Old Vines) - Château Charron

CHÂTEAU CHARRON

PREMIÈRES CÔTES DE BLAYE Vintage “Les Gruppes”

Situation: Situated on the right bank of the Gironde, Château Charron's 18 hectares face the Médoc region.

Grape variety: Merlot 90%, Cabernet Sauvignon 10%

Soil composition: Its perfectly drained clay-lime soil benefits from magnificent South, South-East exposure.

Vinification: After exclusively manual harvesting and table sorting, the grapes stay in the vat for 20 to 30 days, and then undergo 12 months maturing in 400 l barrels.

Tasting: The Merlot majority gives this wine an undeniable touch of finesse, flexibility and legance: all characteristics which are beautifully complemented by the Cabernet sauvignon tructure. Maturing in 400 litre barrels gives velvety tannins. A supple wine with great structure, which is not at all incompatible.

Drinking suggestions: Cuvée des gruppes effortlessly accompanies traditional cuisine, stews, grilled meat or meat in sauce, games and cheese.
