Châteu Maine Gazin - Premières Côtes de BlayeSituation: 7.5 hectares of vines planted on the best hilltops of chalky / boulder clay of Blaye facing the Gironde.Grape Variety: Merlot 100%Soil composition: The topsoil is a mixture of boulder clay and chalky soil, with chalky subsoil. There is a unique microclimate, perfect for producing exceptional wines.Vinification: The fully matured grape undergoes 6 weeks of fermentation in vats. It is then matured, still in vats, for 8 to 9 months depending on the vintage.Tasting: There is a deep red, limpid colour, with a secent of soft fruits, jam and toast, which is an expression of great maturity. In taste it is deep, fruity and supple with a excellent finish.Drinking suggestions: This wine should accompany highly seasoned food such as red meats and cheese.
