Traditional vintage - Château Maine Gazin

Châteu Maine Gazin - Premières Côtes de Blaye


Situation: 7.5 hectares of vines planted on the best hilltops of chalky / boulder clay of Blaye facing the Gironde.


Grape Variety:
Merlot 100%


Soil composition:
The topsoil is a mixture of boulder clay and chalky soil, with chalky subsoil. There is a unique microclimate, perfect  for producing exceptional wines.


Vinification:
The fully matured grape undergoes 6 weeks of fermentation in vats. It is then matured, still in vats, for 8 to 9 months depending on the vintage.


Tasting:
There is a deep red, limpid colour, with a secent of soft fruits, jam and toast, which is an expression of great maturity. In taste it is deep, fruity and supple with a excellent finish.


Drinking suggestions:
This wine should accompany highly seasoned food such as red meats and cheese. Château Maine Gazin can easily be kept for 5/6 years. It should be served at around 18°C. Decant one hour before sereving.
