Premières Côtes de Blaye
Situation: On the best ground of Blayais, facing the Médoc.
Grape variety: Merlot 95%, 5% Petit Verdot
Soil composition: Poor chalky soil, with a hard stone subsoil, a very good flow property and a good exposition of hillsides, it is the ground for partiality of the vines.
Vinification: Manual harvest, with alot of selective picking and sorting. The temperature is controlled to approximanly18°C,and aged in oak barrels for six months.
Tasting: Deep red colour. Very complexed on the nose with hints of vanilla, soft fruits, tobacco and leather. In the mouth there is an explosion of stewed fruits with a final persistence.
Drinking suggestions: Excellent with lamb, traditional cuisine, casseroles, small game and strong cheese.
